For the final logo I wanted to incorporate the emotion or feeling one gets when an animal finds a forever home. I thought it would be appropriate somehow incorporating a person hugging a dog. When trying to add in the negative space aspect I struggled a little bit, but I think this one turned out pretty good!! I wouldn't say negative space is my niche, but I am pretty proud of this.
Negative Space is a technique I have rarely played around with. This round of concepts was a little difficult, but I feel as though only so much can go into it before it becomes too much for the eye to see. I tried to keep it simple with the idea in the back of my head that the logo I may choose to move forward with could possibly work with portions being "punched" out and still keep the design shape. I want this design to be different, but different in a way that hasn't been utilized much. I think I know which one I want to move forward with, so next weeks design should look pretty cool once I put it in my final layout!
Upon reviewing the AARF logo and other logos similar to this type of organization I notice there being a similar trend with the use of negative space. I thought this would be a good opportunity to try and play around with negative space myself and I do hope that I can come up with a new logo design using this type of technique. The newer version of the AARF logo is very nice and clean, but I wish to be able to do a little more for it. It's a little hard to "draw" the ideas I have in my head, so my post this week will be lacking a little bit. Next week should be a little more detailed with the designs.
AARF stands for Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation. They are a non-profit located in Richmond, VA and are dedicated to finding new homes for dogs. These animals come from many different places including loving homes who can no longer keep them as well as dogs that are found homeless on the streets. To ensure these dogs stay out of cages, AARF aims to find temporary homes (foster homes) for these animals until they can find a Forever home!
AARF's main goal is to prevent these animals from being euthanized just because they cannot find a home. Every animal deserves a loving home, and it is their commitment to ensure every dog finds one. Every dog that becomes adopted will be up-to-date on all of their shots, and will also have been spayed or neutered. You can be sure that AARF strives to find the perfect match for every dog to an amazing new home. |
